Last Wednesday, CathSoc appeared in SocMart - the event at the start of the year for societies to sign up new members - for the very first time. It was a great success, as we signed up around thirty names, thus doubling our official number in a mere five hours! A very big thank you to all those who helped out on the stall: setting up, selling our gear, baking cakes and cookies and other such sundries. The stall was decked out with flowers and an icon of the Blessed Virgin, being the feast of Our Lady of Walsingham and all. Her prayers were with us, and the biggest thank you goes out to her, and all those who signed up to the society. Ratification of new societies - including CathSoc, will take place in week 4.
It was also the second time the new CathSoc:t-shirts made an appearance. Striking blue - the UEA colour, though in our case, in honour of the Blessed Virgin - emblazoned with the new logo
We have also been having a small number of individuals approach CathSoc:committee members asking about CathSoc too, which is very encouraging. The support is out there, the deposit of faith is very strong at UEA, and hopefully we can go some way to tap into it.
Prepare yourselves too for CathSoc:Quiz, Wednesday week 2!
